Getting automotive grease spots out of carpet

The other day, I was talking to a fellow cleaner that is relatively new to the industry, and he asked me a question about getting grease spots out of tan carpet, because his regular prespray wasn’t doing it. Then, later that same week, I was in a local car dealership cleaning and working on automotive grease spots, so I thought I’d shoot the video below:

Automotive grease, along with a few other types of spots/spills, can be pretty difficult to remove without special cleaning agents and equipment. You’ll see that in the video, I use a product from one of my main distributors designed specifically for removal of paint, ink, and grease. In the same vein, I’ve used it to remove nail polish, as well.

Care should be taken if you attempt to do this on your own, without training or the proper equipment. The cleaning agent is powerful enough to delaminate your carpet, pulling the backing loose when the cleaner reaches the latex adhesive at the bottom of the carpet.

In the meantime, if you live in Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Radford, Roanoke, and something like this happen to you, feel free to call the professionals at Quest Floor Care. We’re always happy to help.
